本年9月25日から10月6日にかけてJapan Weeksが開催されました。このイベントの開催目的は、海外の投資家や資産運用会社等を集中的に日本に招致し、国際金融センターの実現に向けた日本政府の関連施策や、日本の金融資本市場としての魅力等を情報発信することでした。サステナブルファイナンス、貯蓄から投資への促進、資産運用立国等に関する各種イベントが、関係者と協力しつつ実施されました。 この各種イベントには、政府関係者が参加し、彼らが海外の投資家等と直接対話することでお互いの意思疎通を図る場面もありました。国内のアセットオーナーや資産運用会社等もこのイベントに参加することで、関係者間にコミュニケーションの機会が提供されました。 金融機関向けのフォーラムでは、サステナブルファイナンスの第一人者達から幅広く最新の情報提供が行われ、一般向けのセミナーでは個人でも実践できるサステナブルファイナンス等について理解を深める内容が提供されました。全体的に、より多くの皆さんの業務や生活に進展や気づきが生み出せるようなプログラムとなりました。 また、このイベントでは、アメリカで有名な老舗の証券会社であるエドワード・ジョーンズ社を代表して、シニアストラテジストの高橋晋弥氏が登壇されました。 高橋晋弥氏は講演の中で、「貯蓄から投資へ」という日本政府のスローガンを推進していく上で最も重要なことは、大人が意欲的に投資を行えるような構造改革であると指摘されました。 また、「投資を行うにはまず、投資に必要な資金があることが前提である。しかし、今の日本の平均年収の推移では投資に回す余裕資金が生まれにくい。これでは積極的に投資を行なうことに対する現実味が薄く、学ぶ意欲も高まらない。大人が学ばなければ、子供も学ばない。これが今の日本の現状である。」と今の日本の現状を鋭い視点からお話されました。 さらには、「学ぶ環境を日本全体で整えることから始めることが重要。他責ではなく、自責で物事に取り組まなければいけない。まずはその一歩を日本政府と一緒に取り組んでいきたい。」「日本の金融教育における学ぶ環境を整えることにエドワード・ジョーンズ社は、社を挙げて全力で協力する」と述べ、今後の日本への支援、事業拡大の意思を示しました。 そして最後には、来場者の質問に親身になって回答されました。 今後のエドワード・ジョーンズ社の活動から目が離せません。 下記は講演者の高橋晋弥氏のプロフィールです。 高橋晋弥 最終学歴:東京大学 経済学部卒 東京大学経済学部卒業後、野村證券に入社。その後、2003年からモルガン・スタンレーに在籍し、シニアアナリストとしてマクロ・ミクロの両面から、株や為替をはじめ、一国家、及び企業の財務や業績の分析、将来性の調査・分析を行なう。 2016年からはEdward Jones Investmentsにて、シニアストラテジストとして世界経済の動きから各国の産業・企業の動向、需給要因まで、様々な視点から投資環境を分析し、投資戦略を立案する業務を担当。 現在は同社のアジアマーケット進出に伴い、膨大なデータに基づいた経済分析・投資戦略立案などの業務を行なう傍ら、外資系証券会社で培った独自の見解や投資戦略を日本の個人投資家にもわかりやすく配信している。 ちなみに、「Japan weeks」は大成功に終わりました。 このイベントがきっかけとなり、日本における資産運用業の改革を世界の投資家のニーズに沿った形で更に進めていくために、資産運用フォーラムが日本で開催されることが決定されました。そのための準備委員会が年内に立ち上げる予定です。これを通じて、世界をリードする投資家の意見を反映して、日本がより魅力ある市場となっていくのは確実です。 また、国内外の優れた事業者や人材が日本に集まり、互いに競い合うことで、より良い商品やサービスが提供されていくようになります。 現在も、日本における証券口座開設数は既に大幅に増加し、国内では業界再編・新規参入の動きも出てきています。 国際金融センターを目指す日本において、資産運用のプロである外資系金融機関の存在は不可欠ですが、国が全面的に外資系金融機関をバックアップしているので、日本における外資系証券会社の活躍は、今まで以上にすごいことになりそうです！ 会社名：エドワード・ジョーンズ・インベストメンツ（Edward Jones Investments） 設立：1922年 創設者 : エドワード・D・ジョーンズ 本社所在地 : 12555 Manchester Road Saint Louis, MO 63131 United States 日本支社：東京都港区六本木6-10-1 六本木ヒルズ森タワー43階 公式サイトです： https://www.edwardjonesfx.com
